Ramadan party at CBI

Thu evening there was a party at the CBI to celebrate Ramadan (among other things).

Ben looked up Ramadan on the web, and learned about the tradition of fasting during daylight hours. He had noticed that some of his school friends weren't eating lunch (or anything else) this week, and decided to see what fasting is like. So he woke up at 5:30am in the morning to have scrambled eggs and toast before sunrise:

He didn't take a lunch to school, and when his Muslim friends were allowed to leave the lunchroom to play, Ben went with them. However, Father Josey intercepted Ben, noting that Ben is not Muslim. Ben tried to explain that he was fasting to see what it was like, but eventually decided that discretion was the better part of valor and waited for his non-Muslim friends to finish lunch.

Rathi, one of my new friends at the CBI, did mehndi decorations on her hands a few ago, and at the party she decorated other people's hands, including Jin Yi and Lane:

The people planning the party knew I am curious about India music, and particularly drumming, and they arranged for a short concert before dinner. Awesome!
